THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Officer to join a professionally operated 65m charter/private motor yacht on a temporary basis.

This is an immediate-start position running until 1 October 2026. The successful candidate must be available to join ASAP and be able to commit fully for the duration of the contract.

The role is strongly deck-focused, with approximately 90% of the position centred around deck operations, rather than being primarily bridge-based. The successful candidate will work closely with the Captain and wider deck team and will be expected to remain hands-on and actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the vessel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting and leading day-to-day deck operations.
• Working closely with the Bosun and wider deck team.
• Maintaining high standards across the deck department.
• Assisting with tender operations and watersports activities.
• Guest interaction and support during charter operations.
• Deck maintenance and planned maintenance programs.
• Supporting safe and efficient tender and watersports operations.
• Assisting with bridge duties and watchkeeping as required.
• Supporting the Captain and senior officers with operational requirements.
• Maintaining a positive, professional and team-focused environment onboard.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• OOW 3000 minimum.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Valid ENG1.
• Strong deck background, ideally with previous Bosun or senior deck leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively within a professional deck team.
• Strong tender driving and watersports experience.
• Good practical maintenance skills.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to remain hands-on.
• Ability to integrate quickly into an established crew.
• Must be immediately available to start.
• Must be able to commit to the full temporary period through 1 October 2026.

PERSONALITY

The yacht is looking for someone who is humble, supportive and diligent, with a genuine team mentality.

The successful candidate should be someone who leads by example, is happy to get involved wherever required and can integrate quickly into an established professional crew.

There is no room for ego in the role. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to support the wider team are essential.

CONTRACT PERIOD

This is a temporary contract commencing ASAP and concluding on 1 October 2026.

The successful candidate must be available for an immediate start and must commit to the full agreed period.

At the conclusion of the temporary contract, there may be an opportunity to discuss a longer-term position (3:1 rotation) with the vessel, subject to the yacht’s requirements and the candidate’s suitability.

REMUNERATION

€5,500 -€6,000 per month, for the temporary contract period + tips

The position operates within the yacht’s existing charter/private program, with charter tips shared equally among the crew in accordance with the vessel’s established arrangements.

PROGRAM

The yacht operates a busy charter schedule in the Mediterranean, before moving to the Caribbean for the winter season.

The vessel is exceptionally well maintained, carries extensive watersports equipment and large tenders, and is operated by an experienced professional crew.

Immediate availability is essential.
