Are you an experienced engineer with a sense of adventure, looking for an opportunity to explore some of the world’s more remote destinations?
MYS Superyacht Crew is seeking a motivated, hands-on Rotational Engineer to join a professional crew aboard a 40m+ high-performance sailing yacht.
Position Snapshot
- Salary: DOE
- Rotation: 2 months on / 2 months off, with flexibility to 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off
- Start: Within the next couple of weeks
- Cabin: Shared with the Mate
- Location: Currently based in Asia
- Cruising: Indian Ocean over the next 12 months
- Yachtmaster: Essential
- Engineering COC: Flexible, MCA AEC or AMSA MED 2 (trade qualified also ok)
The Role
This is a very active yacht, currently undertaking its second circumnavigation, with an exciting cruising program exploring remote destinations well off the beaten track.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, sound technical knowledge and previous experience aboard similar-sized yachts.
This position would particularly suit someone who enjoys adventure, exploring unique destinations and is comfortable working and operating in remote locations.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous engineering experience on 40m+ yachts or similar-sized vessels.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Yachtmaster qualification essential for watchkeeping duties.
- AEC considered with proven experience and sufficient sea time.
- Experience with high-performance sailing yachts highly regarded.
- Self-motivated, practical and adaptable.
- Comfortable operating in remote cruising locations.
- Excellent, verifiable references.
