Position Snapshot

An excellent opportunity has become available for a senior deck/ mate looking for their first fulltime drive

The vessel is only a few years old and has been well maintained, however the owner is wanting to step back and enjoy his asset as it begins a travelling program.

Joining in Brisbane the captain will take the vessel to Hamilton Island where it will be based for the season.

Trips will consist of relaxed owner excursions with a few couples (sometimes just Mr & Mrs) or laid-back fishing trips with friends.

The captain will liveaboard or may have the opportunity to stay in the family’s waterfront air bnb on Hamilton Island when not occupied

Itinerary for the next 2 years will include Hamo, Brisbane, Cairns, Tasmania and the South Pacific Islands.

The captain is the only fulltime crew member, therefore should be comfortable with washdowns / detailing and basic engineering, utilising casuals for deliveries.

The owner largely manages themselves onboard with food and service, although the captain should assist with basic interior tidying / dishes and maintaining a clean environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Time on Superyachts or Commercial tourism vessels
  • Some drive time on larger vessels or Tenders
  • Can work well independently
  • Safety conscious
  • Some cruising experience along east coast Aus
  • Well presented and professional
  • Looking for longevity (2 year travelling commitment minimum)
  • Can turn their hand to a variety of tasks
  • Can respect owners privacy in a small yacht environment
  • Master 5 / yachtmaster preferred
  • Working rights for Australia

Start: within 2-3 weeks

Salary: $100,000 AUD / Year Package
