Position Snapshot

  • 10:10 week On/Off Rotation + flights
  • Start Date: Approximately 5th September

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Chief Officer to join a well-run 45m+ private motor yacht operating throughout the South Pacific and on future world cruising itineraries.

This is a rotational position offering approximately 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off, joining a professional crew of nine aboard a vessel that is focused on owner operations, seamanship and maintaining high standards without unnecessary complexity.

Vessel & Program

  • Private yacht with future charter aspirations
  • Currently operating under Mini-ISM
  • Lloyd’s 20-year survey and yard period planned for Q1 2027
  • Crew of 9
  • Primary mission includes supporting the owner’s 20m sportfishing vessel and associated operations
  • Upcoming cruising includes the South Pacific & Australia

Requirements

  • Officer of the Watch (OOW) certification
  • Valid STCW
  • Current ENG1
  • Strong bridge watchkeeping and deck management experience
  • Previous Chief Officer or Senior Deck Officer experience on similar-sized yachts preferred

The Ideal Candidate

The Captain is seeking a mature, low-key and professional Chief Officer who leads by example and takes pride in the fundamentals of good seamanship.

This role would suit someone who:

  • Enjoys a practical, hands-on approach to yacht operations
  • Is confident leading deck operations and mentoring junior crew
  • Maintains high professional standards both onboard and ashore
  • Works well within a close-knit team environment
  • Is guest-focused, discreet and drama-free
  • Values consistency, reliability and getting the basics right before adding complexity

The yacht places significant importance on professionalism, respect within the crew, and fostering a positive onboard culture. The successful candidate will be expected to set the standard for deck operations, safety and crew conduct.
