A high-profile 45m private motor yacht is searching for an enthusiastic and professional Deckhand to join their experienced crew of 10.

The yacht operates a varied cruising program, spending Spring to Autumn based between Sydney and Pittwater, usually venturing north during winter to destinations including the Whitsundays, Great Barrier Reef, Fiji and Tahiti.

This vessel maintains exceptionally high standards of presentation and professionalism. The successful candidate must be well presented, motivated, and take pride in both their work and personal appearance.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities of a deckhand, you will receive ongoing mentoring and training in more senior deck operations including:

• Bridge watches
• Anchoring operations
• Navigation
• Advanced seamanship
• Crane operations
• Safety drills
• Large vessel handling

This position offers an outstanding pathway towards a future Lead Deckhand or Bosun role.

The Successful Candidate

• Powerboat Level 2, Coxswain or higher
• STCW Basic Safety Training
• Valid ENG1 or AMSA Medical
• Some tender driving experience with a desire to further develop these skills
• Experience operating jet boats and jet skis (highly desirable)
• Some bridge watch experience
• Experience with docking operations and line handling
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
• Genuine passion for the ocean, boating, fishing and water sports
• Dive qualifications will be viewed favourably
• Excellent presentation and attention to detail
• Full Australian working rights
• Demonstrated longevity in previous positions
• Ability to live ashore in Sydney

Above Australian industry standard and negotiable for the right candidate.
